The rain held off Saturday night racing at Mercer for the Bill Emig Memorial race. Another high pill draw would have the 23jr starting on the tail of his heat. Sodeman fought his way into the third spot for the finish. For the feature Sodeman drew the 6th pill in the bucket. Making the third appearance at Tri City this year way hoping to have better luck. Unfortunately another bad pill draw would have 23jr starting 8th in the first heat. Sodeman would battle to make it into the 7th position, but didn't make it into the draw for the feature and would have to start 13th. Sodeman battled for position from the drop of the green flag, but with constant lap traffic it was difficult to make as many positions. A caution was brought out on lap 26,...more

The second night of racing brought Sodeman a bit more luck in the pill draw and would start 3rd in the first heat. Sodeman would take the checkered in the second spot. A zero invert would have Sodeman starting in the 6th spot, although due to the previous win he could have started no better than 6th. From the beginning just as the night before various cautions would delay the 25 lap feature. Sodeman would eventually end up in the 4th spot for the second night in a row.

Sodeman would start 7th in the first head, but made his way through the field into the 4th spot to secure his draw position for the feature. The draw would have the 23jr starting 3rd.
