Wayne Johnson racked up another win in Ontario at the Ohsweken Speedway last Friday night. The Knoxville, Iowa driver felt he should have picked up at least one more win on a weekend that saw three events. Word has reached us of the death this morning of Wilbur "Wib" Spalding of Granite City, Ill. A frequent racer in the midwest during his career, he scored a 30-lap USAC National Sprint Car win at Salem (Ind.) Speedway on July 4 of 1968. USAC extends its deepest sympathies to the Spalding family and his many friends.
