KNOXVILLE, Iowa - August 21, 2014
This Saturday at Knoxville Raceway fans will get to witness one of the closest points battles for the season championship in the track's history. Only 114 Points separate the top four drivers in the 410 Class. The too close to call championship is up for grabs by anyone of the driver teams all wanting a fair shot at the Lucas Oil Knoxville Championship Cup that pays 20,000 dollars to the track champion.
"This Saturday is a night not to be missed," said Brian Stickel, Knoxville Raceway General Manager. "When the championship is this close you know the drivers are going to do whatever it takes to try to win. Fans can expect to see a lot of aggressive driving which can make for exciting racing," Stickel said.
Australian Ian Madsen leads the 410 points battle into the final night of competition. Justin Henderson sits in second, 7-time track champ Terry McCarl is in 3rd and Brian Brown is lurking in 4th. The 360 and 305 divisions also will come down to this final race and champions will be crowned in all 3 divisions.
As part of the Greater Des Moines Partnership Chamber Night, this Saturday night's tickets are half price when chamber member affiliates and businesses go to the Greater Des Moines Partnership's website to buy tickets. For more information visit
