Saturday night's scheduled USAC Eastern HPD Midget race, originally scheduled at Concord, N.C., has been cancelled and moved to Franklin County Speedway in Callaway, Va. Franklin County Speedway also will welcome the Eastern HPD Midgets on June 21. Scott Hunter currently holds a two-point lead over defending series champion Chris Lamb entering tonight's (Friday) race at Ace Speedway in Altamahaw, N.C.

The Grays Harbor Raceway Season Opener has been postponed until next Saturday, May 17th. There has been a tremendous amount of rain over the past couple of days and more is predicted overnight and at times tomorrow. After conferring with the track crew, it was obvious that the chances of getting the track in good racing condition was unrealistic. Madera, CA……..Cody Gerhardt of Madera, Calif. won Saturday’s 30-lap “Pombo/Sargent Classic” Honda USAC Western Midget race (co-sanctioned by BCRA) at the Madera Speedway. Gerhardt led the first two laps and the last two after passing Chad Nichols on lap 29. David Goodwill took second ahead of Jarid Blondel, Nichols and Lauren Snider. Alger, WA……..USAC HPD Washington Midget point leader Chase Goetz of Snohomish, Wash. trailed Garrett Thomas for 22 laps, then led the last three to win Saturday night’s 25-lap feature at Skagit Speedway. The first ever appearance of the Summer Thunder Sprint Series at Grays Harbor Raceway is in the books, and Enumclaw driver Henry VanDam was victorious in the 25 lap feature.
