Bob Coulter, who fielded USAC Sprint cars driven to victories by Bob East at Ascot Park (Gardena, CA) in 1976 and Chuck Gurney at Toledo Speedway (Ohio) in 1977, passed away Monday in California at age 82. In 1963 Coulter served as relief driver for Johnny White as they captured the Little 500 Sprint race at Anderson, Ind. USAC extends its condolences to his family and friends.

Saturday's "Salt City 78" feature race, part of the track's NAPA "Super Dirt Week," is scheduled to start at 1:30 pm, following a morning practice session. Kody Swanson capped his second consecutive USAC Silver Crown Championship Saturday, winning the “Salt City 78” series finale at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse.
