About Riley

While at a young age, cars were about the only thing on this drivers mind. Dreaming of racing for his first six years of life, his dream became a reality in October 2013. Attending an Arrive and Drive event at Terre Haute Quarter Midget Association, he strapped in to a club car and pushed off for the first 10 laps of his career.

Shortly after that awesome experience, Riley and his family were selected as recipients of a THQMA scholarship car and Shell Shocked Racing was formed and they haven't looked back since. During his successful novice season, the team purchased their own car for the 2015 campaign in the Jr Honda class at the dirt track in Terre Haute. The team expanded to a two-car operation for the 2016 season after a impressive 5th place finish of the club's track championship in Jr Honda. After some struggles in the Sr classes, and running the Lt 160 class occasionally, the team decided to step back to one car in 2017.

2017 also brought a surface change. After running the Battle at the Brickyard for fun in 2016, the team decided to join USAC .25 to run in pavement races at the much closer club, Mini-Indy. With limited action in 2017 at their home track and another Battle at the Brickyard appearance, the team is looking forward to a busy 2018 season and to sharpen their pavement racing skills.

The 2018 Season was a learning year for the Shell Shocked Racing team. Driver and crew were in their first full season on pavement and learning important lessons every time on the track. Amid motor and set-up issues nearly all season long, Riley drove his way to a 9th place finish in season points for the Mini-Indy Sr. Honda class and a 6th place finish in the Indiana State Series. The end of the season was finished on a high note with a 2nd place finish at Kokomo Quarter Midget Club's Wiley Gordon Memorial race. This was his highest finish on pavement yet.

With the 2018 season ending on an upward swing, driver and crew is looking forward to the 2019 season.
