About Anthony

Anthony Sergi made his childhood dreams a reality when he was crowned the 2015 Nascar Whelen All- American New Smyrna Speedway Super Late Model championship, it was one of his peak years in Anthony’s asphalt racing career. From the start of his 2005 Quarter Midget to the 2015 Super Late Model Championship, Anthony has been winning races and fans alike in his famous #20.
Anthony a native of Geneva , Florida starting his career in 2005 at the age of 10 in the competitive Southeaster Quarter Midgets scene, Anthony excelled. He was determined to win, earning eight wins in this first season of competition at the New Smyrna Quarter Midget track. He continued his success over the next few years setting a track record and winning a 2008 World Formula Championship.
Continued Success
In 2008, Anthony move up the Quarter Midget ranks and stepped up into full-sized racing machines in to the competitive Pro Truck division at Florida’s Auburndale Speedway. While gaining experience as the youngest driver in the field, Anthony impressed many fellow drivers and fans with a fifth-place finish at season's end.
After a learning year in 2008, Anthony stepped up his game in 2009, moving over to New Smyrna Speedway and Orlando Speed World short -tracks in Central Florida. At the young age of 14 Anthony earned Rookie of the Year honors at both tracks, finishing second in Pro Truck points at New Smyrna Speedway and third in points at Orlando SpeedWorld.
While continuing his success in the Pro Truck division, Anthony moved up the ranks into Asphalt Limited Late Model and Super Late Model division throughout Central Florida in 2010. This year Anthony exceled, earned titles in three division, winning the Pro Truck Track Championships at both New Smyrna Speedway and Orlando SpeedWorld earning the Super Late Model Rookie of the Year title at Orlando SpeedWorld and finished second in points at both tracks in the Limited Late Model divisions.
In 2011, Anthony focused on a touring series for the first time his career, competing in the Florida United Promoters Series with the MJS Concrete No. 20 Super Late Model. He excelled at tracks throughout Florida, earning top five finishes on occasions and finishing fifth in points, battling with short-track veterans every weekend.
2012 brought a new challenge for Anthony as he began racing outside the Central Florida area, while also trying to earn victories at home tracks. Anthony raced in the Florida United Promoters Late Model Series as well as the Gulf Coast Championship in the Florida Panhandle and Alabama, as well as select events throughout the southeast. Bad luck seemed to plague the team; and without it they would've won a handful of events.
Success returned in 2013 when Sergi scores the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Florida Rookie of the Year and the Orlando SpeedWorld , NASCAR Whelen All- American Series Super Late Model track championship. The season produced two wins, one at Orlando and a Pro Late Model win at New Smyrna Speedway.
In the 2014 season, Anthony competed in the Super Late Model division at New Smyrna Speedway, as well as in all six Bright House Challenge Series races at New Smyrna Speedway as and DeSoto Speedway Super Late Model division. The team earned a pair of top-five finishes and five top-10 finishes in the Bright House Challenge Series action. Along with a Desoto Speedway Rookie of the Year award.
The 2015 season was a breakout season for Sergi competed in the Nascar Whelen All-American Series Super Late Model division, recorded three wins, five top-fives, and seven top 10 finishes on his way to clinching the New Smyrna Whelen All- American Series Super Late Model track championship, a childhood dream.
