Driver Profile

Jay Hemenway is a 12 year old NC Native from Wake Forest. He is a student at Falls Lake Academy in Granville County. He loves to play hockey, golf and baseball. He has played travel hockey for 3 years and house league since he was about 6 years old. He currently plays on his school golf team. His newest passion is racing. He has been to may races from Wake County Speedway, South Boston, and Martinsville to the Indy 500. He fell in love with the bandoleros at Wake County. He was surprised with one at the Thanksgiving Classic at Southern National Motorsports Thanksgiving weekend 2022. He hopped in and raced that night finishing in the top 10 both races. He attended Winter Nationals February 2023 and did really well with a 2nd and two 3rd's. He was wrecked out on Thursday and was running 2nd and 3rd before spinning out with a half lap to go. He is looking forward to gaining experience at his home track at Wake County Speedway and finding victory lane! His car design is in honor of his grandpa Hemenway who raced a 70 model Ford Mustang #12 on the dirt tracks in Indiana and speed from grandpa Denny who ran moonshine in Person County.
