Driver Profile

Hello,

My name is Mike McVetta. I was born and raised in Grafton, Ohio; a small town southwest of Cleveland. After high school I moved to Toledo, Ohio where I earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from The University of Toledo. Upon graduation I started a career in space propulsion systems testing for NASA in Cleveland, Ohio. Wellington, Ohio is where my wife and I call home and is also the home of McVetta Racing.

I have had a successful career in racing, starting at the age of 9 in quarter midgets (1994) and have proven myself to be a quick learner both on and off the track. I have many wins, track records, top 5, and top 10 finishes throughout my racing career as well as 2 championships. I have experience racing quarter midgets, sprint cars, formula cars, and supermodifieds. I’m not the stereotypical show up with your bag race car driver; I’m the driver, owner, mechanic, and fabricator as well. In 2010 I founded Rocket Fabrication, which is a full service race car fabrication shop where I build everything from sheet metal body work to wings to entire race cars.
