Driver Profile

Married into the Corning family legacy in 1992. My son Billy Hackett got into a street stock in 2013 and when he moved up to Modified in 2015, I jumped into his street stock. After a couple of seasons, Billy and I both stepped away letting Mike Corning get back into the racecars. After Mike's tragic death in 2019, my father-in-law was ready to get out of racing. It took a year or so and he started putting Mike's wrecked car back together. Racing is his therapy and it made sense to give him something to work towards. I mentioned I might want to get into the car as a Sports Mod. We worked every day on the car to convert it and I finally was behind the wheel in 2021. Been learning and having fun this season.
