Driver Profile

As a first-time builder and driver in Pro Stock, we were satisfied with our first weekend of racing. Once we had the new D800 Hoosiers on, practice went much smoother.

We qualified 12 of 14. No surprise there, since we are still getting comfortable with the car, and also misunderstanding which lap was qualifying time. We learned. This position was fine and gave a great opportunity to run at the back our first race, unaffected by a crowd of other drivers.

First race we finished P12. Of course we would have liked to have done better, but that will come with time in the seat. The second race was more exciting, given the crash on turn 2 of the first lap. Video shows I was already well behind the car ahead, which kept me out of the wreckage. We came out clean and we finished P8 due to the number of cars that DNF.

In our opinion, we won. Life should be like this ... we tried something new, we learned new skills, we made new friends and came out safe, ready to give this a go again. We will improve, but as for winning? We've already done that. Race like you want to win!
