About Taylor

I am a 23-year-old driver from Cave Creek, Arizona, with a unique background and story. Here's a short summary of my racing career so far:
I began racing competitively at 5 years old. I raced asphalt kid karts until I turned 13, moving into cadet karts with bigger chassis and engines. I competed with the top drivers in the country while traveling the southwest. In 2013, I had the opportunity to compete for a spot on Team USA in the 2013 World Finals in New Orleans, LA, karting's biggest event on an international level. I won the 8 race series and moved on to the World Finals, where I had mechanical failure and was unable to finish.
In 2014 I got my start in dirt racing in the modlite class. I was presented Arizona Rookie of the Year. The next years of racing were a roller coaster, as gaining experience and knowledge didn't come easy, especially taking months at a time off. I faced a lot of challenges and harsh lessons.
In 2019 I got my start in an IMCA sport mod. I strived to earn Northern Sport Mod Rookie of the Year, in which I fought throughout the year to end up second. This is a proud moment, and it allowed for bigger goals the following years. I spent 2020 racing around the Northern United States, gaining new experience, seat time and knowledge of the mechanics of the race car. In 2021 I ran the sport mod around Iowa, where I saw the most growth in my journey. Being alone most of the time allowed for focus and hands-on learning, and indolence was not an option. In 2022 I tried new forms of racing, in a midget for the Chili Bowl and a micro sprint in Arizona. I also raced a friend's stock car often throughout the season. The highlight of 2022 was qualifying for the IMCA Super Nationals “big dance" and earning a front row starting spot through the qualifier.
In 2023 I raced 41 IMCA Northern Sport Mod features, 8 of which I won, and placed top 5 in 21 of them. Unexpectedly, I lead IMCA Lady Eagle points through the end, and earned my First Lady Eagle award. My team and I beat our goal of more than 4 race wins from the previous year. I also competed in a handful of stock car races.
I am excited to keep learning and progressing in modified series to compete with the top racers in the country and show up for the people who support me. I don't want to be the best girl driver, but I strive to be the best driver. And if I can't be that, I plan to make a difference in racing using what I know and what I am learning.
Racing is just like life in the way it is not easy and it is not always fair, but no matter how unfair or difficult it may be, you must work to get where you want to be. I appreciate the humility and ethics racing teaches me, and love the community and adrenaline rush racing brings upon me.
