About Kody

Sixteen-year-old Kody King started his racing career when he was just 6 years old by racing go-karts. He spent four years racing go-karts around the Midwest, earning 31 feature victories in eight different states. He also claimed the 2016 Midwest Dirt Kart Challenge Shootout championship and the 2017 O'Reilly National Indoor Karting Championship in the Pro Jr. 1 division.

After his successful stint racing go-karts, Kody began racing a Bandolero in 2017. In 2018 he put together his most successful season to date, earning eight victories in five different states while also earning a prestigious victory in the Bandolero portion of the King of the Highbanks event at Wisconsin's Slinger Super Speedway.

In 2019 Kody had one of the best seasons of his young career. The native of Clear Lake, Iowa, earned a fourth-place finish in the overall INEX National Bandolero Bandit standings and his strong season-long performance in multiple states across the country was also enough for him to win the INEX Bandolero Bandit National Touring championship.

In 41 races across the United States in 2019, King earned 11 victories at six tracks in six states, including Minnesota, Texas, Nebraska, Wyoming, Colorado and Michigan. He also earned 24 podium finishes and 32 top-five finishes.

Kody spent the 2020 season getting his feet wet in full-sized late models with the CRA Jr. Late Model Series, earning a pole and several top-five finishes along the way while also racing a Legend car to a second-place finish on dirt in the Young Lion National championship as well as the Iowa State championship

In 2021 he continued his shift to late models by competing in select events with Lee Faulk Racing and Development while also racing at his home track, Hawkeye Downs Speedway, winning his first late model event that same season.

During the 2022 season, King captured a track championship at Hawkeye Downs Speedway while also finishing in the top-five of the CARS Pro Late Model Tour standings.

For 2023, Kody has partnered with Pathfinder Chassis to chase another track championship at Hawkeye Downs Speedway. He has also committed to the full Big 8 Late Model Series schedule.
