Driver Profile

Stu Laidlaw’s racing career started in 2010 racing stock cars on dirt tracks in Willow, Kenai and Fairbanks. Starting in the Hobby Stock Class, Stu quickly became proficient in winning races. Shortly after, Stu moved up to the B Stock car class. B Stock is the top stock car class in the Alaska circuit. By hard work and determination, Stu and his team made his stock car the fastest car in its class!

?In 2018 Stu moved from the dirt track to the pavement in the GCI Late Model class. Stu and his team are highly respected by his peers and have made huge strides coming a long way in just three seasons. While 2018 was a learning season for Stu, he was in the lead in points for all rookies that season.

In 2019 Stu and Crew Chief Dave worked to consistently get faster with greater proficient speed and ended up 3rd overall in points! This is a great accomplishment for such a new team. Laidlaw Racing also received the 2019 Best Appearing Team award for the oval track.

Stu's goal for the 2020 season was to gain more proficient speed. During this season, Stu placed in all 8 of his races and won the GCI Late Model championship! He might not have been the fastest car on the track but he was the most consistent all season, putting him in the lead for points and earning the titles of 2020 Advanced Auto Parts NASCAR Weekly Series Late Model Track Champion for Alaska Raceway Park and Alaska Champion.
