Perris, CA……..Richard Vander Weerd of Visalia, Calif. earned his first career AMSOIL USAC/CRA Sprint feature victory Saurday nigh at Perris Auto Speedway. He halted Damion Gardner’s three-race unbeaten streak although Gardner made a spirited bid for the win. The Grays Harbor Raceway Season Opener has been postponed until next Saturday, May 17th. There has been a tremendous amount of rain over the past couple of days and more is predicted overnight and at times tomorrow. After conferring with the track crew, it was obvious that the chances of getting the track in good racing condition was unrealistic. Heading up the coast to the scenic racetrack that is located right across the street from the beach is always a much anticipated trip.
