Persistent rains in the St. Louis area have conspired to force cancellation of Thursday night’s opening round of the 2014 “Gold Crown Midget Nationals” at Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Ill. The 6th Annual event will resume Friday night with a complete program of racing on the 3/8-mie dirt oval. Saturday night’s finale will culminate with a 50-lap feature offering $10,000-to-win.
