Brock Zearfoss completes World of Outlaws season with podium at The Dirt Track at Charlotte

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

JONESTOWN, Pa. (November 8, 2021) - The “Jonestown Jet” Brock Zearfoss certainly saved his best performance for last, as the 2021 World of Outlaws Rookie of the Year contender capped his first-ever season as a Series full-timer with a podium performance in the season-ending World Finals at The Dirt Track at Charlotte in Charlotte, North Carolina. The former Port Royal Speedway track champion finished second in his final Outlaws start, advancing three spots from fifth on the A-Main grid.

The runner-up result did not come without challenges, as Zearfoss was forced to cross under multiple sliders given by David Gravel, as well as fend off ten-time World of Outlaws champion, Donny Schatz.

Before earning his podium result, Zearfoss, pilot of the Brock Zearfoss Racing, Moose’s LZ Bar & Grill, Heavy Equipment, Loaders & Parts Inc., C&D Rigging Inc., Meckley's Limestone Products, Berkebile Oil Company, Klick Lewis Cars, J.P. Adamsky Trucking, X-1 Race Cars, No. 3Z sprint car, opened World Finals competition with a 13th-place score on Friday, advancing 12 positions after utilizing a World of Outlaws provisional to start 25th.

Despite being a former winner with the Greatest Show On Dirt, the World Finals podium outcome was Zearfoss’ top result as a Series full-timer.

“Better late than never,” Zearfoss said with a grin, who finished ninth in the World of Outlaws driver standings padded by 23 top-ten finishes. “We had the opportunity to win several races, but so many things kept us behind that little bit. The people behind me have brought me up when I’m down. I keep saying it, but we really have been getting better since Knoxville. We were battling for the win and I got too antsy I think. Just having the opportunity to win is special for us.”

With his 2021 campaign complete, Brock Zearfoss and Brock Zearfoss Racing will begin the tedious task of preparing for 2022, as the Jonestown, Pennsylvania-based open wheelers plan to take on the World of Outlaws once again next season, working to translate his rookie woes into sophomore success. In addition, Zearfoss hopes to make his return to Australia during the North American off-season, aiming to repeat as the Western Australia Speedweek champion.

Although not official, Zearfoss may make an appearance at BAPS Motor Speedway on Saturday, November 13; the annual Sprint Showdown will award a $5,000 top prize.
