Perris Auto Speedway the backdrop for the 2021 Oval Nationals. 36 cars traveled from far and wide to run wheel to wheel with some of the nations best non wing sprint car drivers. The competition was over a 3 day span and saw alot of high and lows for all the teams in attendance.
Thursday night Austin in the 92 car would claim 5th overall fastest, setting him up for the Heat Race # 1 - probably the toughest heat line up of the night. FLOWDYNAMICS / SIMPSON RACE PRODUCTS FIRST HEAT: (10 laps) 1. Grant, 2. Roa, 3. Thorson, 4. L.Williams, 5. A.Williams, 6. Gile, 7. Grabowski, 8. Malcolm, 9. Windom. NT. Not making the 4 car invert would now see Austin having to run the semi main event ... coming home in 2nd would lock him into the 30 lap Man Event. A Main Event finish of 7th would be the best overall finish of the local west coast drivers. Awesome job Austin. Jake Swanson would claim his first USAC National event at his previous home track -- Congrats to the 21AZ team....
