Being at the top of the class in school can be difficult, but can you imagine being at the top of your sport for four straight years? In the same four years that it takes to graduate from high school, Bill Balog has been the driver to beat with the IRA Outlaw Sprint Series. The 2011 season was no different, as the 31-year old won his fourth consecutive championship in the Midwestern-based series.
All of his accomplishments were made with Astro Titanium components on the B2 Motorsports No. 17B Maxim, so we at Astro Titanium would like to take a moment to congratulate Balog on a championship 2011 season.
This year the champion led the series in nearly every statistical category. Balog won 13 out of the 23 races that were contested at 15 different tracks in four states. At the IRA awards banquet Balog took home a $10,000 check for his accomplishments this season, in addition to numerous special awards. The native of Alaska, who now calls Wisconsin home, won the fast time award bonus for having the most quick times this season and also claimed the hardware for winning the most heat races in 2011.
“Thank you for producing such high quality fasteners and parts,” expressed Balog. “The convenience of any of the Astro Titanium kits takes the guess work out, while saving time and weight. Our team has had great success with their lightweight and very strong parts, winning races and championship, and we did not have a single parts failure. The B2 Motorsports team will continue to achieve our goals with the help of Astro Titanium.”
