Inside Line Promotions – TULSA, Okla. (Oct. 22, 2021) – Jett Barnes is 2-for-2 during KKM Giveback Classic presented by Velox Racing preliminary competition as he scored his second straight Lucas Oil National Open Wheel 600 Series presented by Hi-Plains Building Division Restricted ‘A’ Class victory at Port City Raceway on Friday night.
Barnes, who captured his first career triumph with the series on Thursday, was on a mission during Friday’s action. He won a heat race and placed third during a qualifier before advancing from third to garner the A Main victory.
Barnes is locked into Saturday’s A Main thanks to sweeping the two preliminary nights. Colton Key, Scout Spraggins, Corbin Rueschenberg, NOW600 Series points leader Garret Benson and Chase McDougal are also starting in the first three rows of the 40-lap feature on Saturday following successful preliminary action.
On Friday, Rueschenberg produced a second-place showing with Benson placing third. Spraggins ended fourth and Key was fifth.
Parker Perry, Jace Wren, Benson, Braden Jones, Barnes and Cale Coons recorded heat race wins. Rueschenberg, Justis Sokol, Braxston Wilson and Spraggins were the qualifier winners. Jones, Chase Wright and Wren garnered B Main triumphs.
The KKM Giveback Classic presented by Velox Racing concludes on Saturday at Port City Raceway. The pits are open all day with the grandstands opening at 5 p.m. Practice is set for 6 p.m. with racing to follow.
Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for seniors and $10 for students. Veterans and children 5-years-old and younger get in free.
