Bryan Hulbert – GREENWOOD, Neb. (September 8, 2021) Gearing up for two nights at Nebraska’s I-80 Speedway this weekend, the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by the MAVTV Motorsports Network will take on the Malvern Bank 360 Sprint Cars.
Kicking off Friday, September 10 with the Bobby Parker Memorial, the $4,000 to win, $1,000 to start event is the lead into the $4,000 to win, $400 to start Casey’s Midwest Fall Brawl on Saturday, September 11.
Recently added to the National Tour lineup, Friday’s Bobby Parker Memorial will utilize one of two formats depending on car count.
For 31 cars or less, a duel-heat format will be used that has been used in the past for the Silver Dollar Nationals and Fall Brawl. Drivers will draw in like normal, and both sets of heat lineups will be made off the draw, with the second round shuffling the deck. Combined Passing Points will set the A and B-Feature lineups. For 32 cars or more, the field will Qualify with a six-car invert in the Heats (Fastest time to sixth in Heat 1, next fastest to sixth in Heat 2, etc.). A passing point scale is used in the Heats. The format is used by the SLMR Series and is explained in its entirety at https://www.slmrseries.com/driver-info/rules.
As a late addition to the schedule with track rules already announced, the Friday program will follow the track’s tire requirements, with the Left Rear being a Hoosier H12, H15, D12, or RaceSaver. Right, Rear is the standard ASCS Medium. There will be tires for sale at the track. This will be a show-up points event for ASCS worth 100 points for all in attendance.
Saturday’s format will follow the standard ASCS draw and passing points with all other ASCS rules enforced as normal. If more than 40 cars draw in, Heats and Qualifiers will be run.
Friday, September 10, includes NASCAR Super Late Models, and GOTRA. Saturday, September 11, will feature NASCAR Super Late Models again, but will swap GOTRA for MCSA. Admission on each day is $22 for Adults, $5 for Youth (6-12), and free for Kids five and under. Pits are $35. Grandstands open at 5:30 P.M. with racing Friday at 7:15 P.M and Saturday at 7:00 P.M. (CDT).
I-80 Speedway is located at 13909 238th St. in Greenwood, Neb., at Exit 420 off I-80. For information on the track, log onto https://www.i-80speedway.com, follow the track on Facebook, or call (402) 659-3301.
