There are all types of trophies from trophy wives to hunting trophies, but this weekend the only trophy that mattered was the 18th running of the Trophy Cup. When the race had been settled, the top-three finishers were running fasteners from Astro Titanium showing the strength durability of their parts. As a result, Astro Titanium would like to congratulate Kyle Larson, Jac Haudenschild, and Roger Crockett on their accomplishments this weekend.
After winning the B-main to earn his bid in the feature event, Crockett had his work made out for him on Saturday night. Then once the feature took the green flag, Crockett gradually worked his way through the field and captured the 3rd position at the end of the feature event.
At the front of the field Saturday night, Larson was busy putting on a clinic as he was dominant at Thunderbowl Raceway. After starting in the 3rd position, Larson made his move on Lap-11 and led the remainder of the 50-Lap race.
While Larson was dominating at the front, the point battle was heating up. Haudenschild after finishing 6th the previous night, was in contention with Jonathan Allard for the $20,000 prize and it all was decided by two dramatic passes on the last lap of the contest. When the final yellow flag came out on Lap 48, it set up one of the closest finishes in Trophy cup history. On the ensuing restart, the two battled each other tooth-and-nail for the prize, but on the final orbit of the oval Haudenschild used the top line to get past both Allard and Crockett to take home the Trophy Cup and $20,000.
