Two great traditions will combine to help bring back one of Western New York’s most time honored traditions at Holland International Speedway on Saturday, August 28. The George Decker Memorial a 52-lap Race of Champions Sportsman Modified Series race along with the 48-lap Rick Wylie Classic for the Race of Champions Super Stock Series will combine to create the “Bud 100”.
The Race of Champions Sportsman Modified Series will race for extra funding spearheaded and raised by the Decker family and George Decker’s son, Barry, while the Race of Champions Super Stock Series have several extra bonuses to compete for.
Scott Wylie, son of Rick Wylie has put together $2,644 in lap money, along with $250 for the longest tow. Rich Littlefield of Buffalo, N.Y., putting up $250 for the hard charge. Streamline Performance has $248 for the fastest qualifier. The halfway leader will receive $400 from Rusty Diamond Core and an additional $250 for a “hard luck” award.
“My Father raced so much at Holland,” stated Wylie. “This is a huge night for our family and we are really looking forward to it as well as being thankful that so many people have stepped up for us to make the race special.”
The Race of Champions Late Model Series and Race of Champions FOAR Score Four Cylinder Dash Series will join the card, while the NYPA TQ Midgets will round out the card.
Discount tickets for Saturday, August 28, are available at Consumer Beverage locations throughout Western New York. Practice will take place on Thursday, August 26 at Holland from 5pm until dusk.
