Bryan Hulbert – WAKEENEY, Kan. (August 23, 2021) Making their return for the first in almost 23-years, the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by the MAVTV Motorsports Network will headline action at WaKeeney Speedway on Friday, August 27.
Three overall visits to the Kansas oval, it was Cimarron, Kan. driver Garry Lee Maier in Victory Lane each time in 1995, 1996, and 1998. Bringing the tour back, Terry Mattox Promotions has leased the facility for this Friday’s events, which includes RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Cars, Modifieds, and Hobby Stocks.
Friday's program offers teams a $3,000 to win, $400 to start SawBlade.com A-Feature payout.
Still, anyone’s title to win, the battle for the 2021 Championship is separated by 55-points, with Blake Hahn leading Matt Covington and J.J. Hickle. Still, in close competition, Dylan Westbrook sits fourth, with Colby Thornhill cracking the top five. Ryan Bickett holds sixth, with Scott Bogucki slipping to seventh following a back injury that sidelined the No. 28 through the final stretch of Sprint Week. Travis Reber, Alex Hill, and Ryan Timms complete the top ten.
Friday, August 27, opens at 5:00 P.M. with Hot Laps at 7:15 P.M. and Racing at 8:00 P.M. (CDT). Tickets are $25 for adults, $20 for Seniors, $5 for Youth 11-14, and free for Kids 10 and under. Pits are $35.

The 2021 season is the 30th year of competition for the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by the MAVTV Motorsports Network.
