Astro Titanium fasteners Helps Elite Racing Earn Five Consecutive Wins

The World of Outlaws is the most competitive 410 Sprint Car Series in the world, so when 2010 champion and current series points leader Jason Meyers enters the track, he is sure to have Astro Titanium fasteners on his racing machine. This past weekend Meyers captured his fifth consecutive win with the series and extended his point lead with Astro Titanium not only on his car, but in his car.

The win crusade began for Meyers on Sept. 24 at Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pa. The 2010 World of Outlaws Champion began the night by qualifying second and then took the lead on Lap 13. Meyers held off a late race charge from Donny Schatz to win the Commonwealth Clash, by a scant 0.382- seconds over Schatz. The win for Meyers was his fifth of the season and he took home $10,000 for his efforts, but he was not done there.

The second consecutive win came at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pa., which is a track that Meyers had been attempting to win at for his engine builder Charlie Garrett since they joined forces. The pair celebrated their first win at the famed track in July, but Meyers was determined to collect more trophies at the challenging half-mile. On the night before the National Open, Meyers started from the pole and lead the feature wire-to-wire. The second night of racing was rescheduled for the following week, though Meyers was ready.

On the following Friday night, the California Champion was ready to face ‘The Grove’ and the best the Pennsylvania Posse could dish out. Meyers began the night in the fifth position, and gradually made his way to the front of the pack, with just had one driving standing between himself and a $50,000 payday and that was Daryn Pittman. On a restart with just four laps to go, Meyers took the lead from Pittman going into turn two and pulled away by over two seconds as the checkered flag flew.

The next step for the 2011 World of Outlaws point leader was Rolling Wheels Raceway Park in Elbridge, N.Y. Meyers started from the pole and dominated the entire race, holding a lead of over one full second over his nearest competitor for the majority of the 25-lap contest. At the drop of the checkered flag, Meyers had a nearly three-second lead over runner-up Craig Dollansky.

The most recent win for Meyers happened at Fremont Speedway in Ohio. He opened the evening as the fastest qualifier with a solid 37-car field in attendance, to earn his 11th fast time award of the season. The Californian lined up third in the 40-lap feature, and quickly moved into second, setting his sights on leader Donny Schatz. The two would battle in and out of lapped traffic, trading the lead several times before Meyers established himself in the top position on Lap-14. He would have to hold off charges from Tim Shaffer and Kerry Madsen, outlasting the field to earn his fifth consecutive win.

“To be able to do what we have done lately has been unbelievable,” Meyers stated. “When you sit back and look at all the hard work the team has put in here on the road and everyone back at the shop like Charlie Garrett, Steve Kent, and Scott Hoofnagle, that is why we are here today. We did not have a great start to the season, but they kept digging. Even though we had won four races in a row, we came here tonight and they kept working just as hard we did at the beginning of the season. They want to win and to see it happen is really special. We have a great team of supporters like Astro Titanium. That is what got us here and with three races left we are going to keep it up.”
