Ramey Ready to Tackle Two Missouri Ovals This Weekend

Inside Line Promotions – SEDALIA, Mo. (Aug. 17, 2021) – Gunner Ramey is heading to his home track as well as a track in his hometown this weekend.

The Terry Doogs Racing driver returns to action on Saturday at Lake Ozark Speedway in Eldon, Mo., before making his debut at Missouri State Fair Speedway in Sedalia, Mo., on Sunday.

Ramey has a season-best result of third at Lake Ozark Speedway.

“That’s what I’d say is my home track, the place I’ve had the most laps at,” he said. “You have to have things go your way and put a complete night together to be able to contend. I feel like we should be able to compete for a win and hopefully get a win.”

Meanwhile, Missouri State Fair Speedway has been the closest track to Ramey for years.

“Up until a few months ago I lived about a block from there for the past several years,” he said. “It’s super close to us. They didn’t have the fair last year with everything going on. That’s really the only time of the year they race there and last year was my first year in a sprint car.

“I’ve been to a few World of Outlaws shows and then always watched during the fair there when they’d have a sprint car race. I’ve been there a lot as a kid to watch races there.

“I haven’t been on anything like that, but my crew chief has been there and raced there several times. He’ll have a good base for me and a good spot to start.”
