Belleville, IL. (8/10/2021) As the season end draws near, the Lucas Oil POWRi Wingless Auto Racing Sprint League chase for the championship continues to heat up heading into the penultimate weekend of racing action on Saturday, August 21st at the fast lap times of Lake Ozark Speedway.
Fresh off crowning a new King of Kansas City at Valley Speedway on August 7th in Wesley Smith, the POWRi WAR Sprint League points championship continues to see Mario Clouser atop the standings with Xavier Doney cutting into the lead ever-so-slightly. Doney, continuing to lead the League Rookie of the Year pursuit, now finds himself only eighty points behind the leading Clouser.
Sportsmanship would be at the forefront within WAR at the past event at Valley Speedway as a pair of drivers would step aside from their rides to allow their fellow competitors to continue in their championship quest. Mario Clouser would wheel the familiar J.D. Black-owned #7j in a great showing. Riley Kreisel would suffer engine issues early in the night as Heath Murry would allow Kreisel to race his car #7m in the feature event.
