Zearfoss battles through “Hard Knox” to qualify for Knoxville Nationals A-Main; North and South Dakota starts ahead

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

JONESTOWN, Pa. (August 16, 2021) - Despite kicking off his 60th Knoxville Nationals effort with a tough qualifying outing on Thursday, ending his preliminary campaign with a fifth-place score during the Last Chance Showdown, the “Jonestown Jet” Brock Zearfoss rebounded in a big way on Friday and finished fourth in Knoxville’s “Hard Knox” last chance program, automatically qualifying Zearfoss for Saturday’s 50-lap, $150,000-to-win Knoxville Nationals A-Main. The former Port Royal Speedway track champion started fifth on the “Hard Knox” grid and improved one spot to become “locked in.”

Zearfoss, driver of the Brock Zearfoss Racing, Moose’s LZ Bar & Grill, Heavy Equipment, Loaders & Parts Inc., C&D Rigging Inc., Meckley's Limestone Products, Berkebile Oil Company, Klick Lewis Cars, J.P. Adamsky Trucking, X-1 Race Cars, No. 3Z sprint car, went on to finish 15th in Saturday’s 50-lapper, improving nine spots from the outside of row 12.

Before Knoxville Nationals action kicked-off on Wednesday, Zearfoss made the short tow to Southern Iowa Speedway for the annual Front Row Challenge on Monday, August 9. After winning his respective heat race, Zearfoss went on to finish ninth in the $21,000-to-win blockbuster, climbing forward from 15th.

“What a great week for this team. The atmosphere at the Knoxville Nationals is second to none and we couldn’t be more proud to qualify for Saturday’s A-Main. It’s a pretty surreal feeling to have your name added to the starting grid. It just goes to show what this team is capable of,” Zearfoss said, who is currently ninth in the World of Outlaws championship standings. “We have another big weekend ahead, so hopefully we can put this momentum to the test and get ourselves another Outlaw win.”

Brock Zearfoss and Brock Zearfoss Racing will continue their 2021 World of Outlaws Rookie of the Year campaign with a three-race sweep through North and South Dakota, kicking things off with a visit to River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, North Dakota, on Friday, August 20, followed by a trip to Red River Valley Speedway in West Fargo, North Dakota, on Saturday, August 21. The weekend will cap with a stop at Huset’s Speedway in Brandon, South Dakota, on Sunday, August 22. All four events will award $10,000 top prizes.
