Inside Line Promotions – OSKALOOSA, Iowa (Aug. 11, 2021) – Brian Brown is focused on the task at hand this week as the NOS Energy Drink Knoxville Nationals presented by Casey’s General Stores has arrived.

Confidence and momentum are on Brown’s side entering the marquee event at Knoxville Raceway, where he has a trio of wins this season and just finished sixth during the 10th annual Fatheadz Eyewear Capitani Classic presented by Great Southern Bank last Sunday.

Aug. 5 – Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa – Qualifying: 21; Heat race: 1 (2); Feature: 13 (14).

“I didn’t do a good job in qualifying and got us in a hole,” Brown said. “We won the heat and started 14th in the feature. It was a pretty narrow track. We ran around there wide open for 20 laps and gained one spot. It was a 20-lap dyno session.”

Aug. 7 – Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa – B Main: 4 (9); Feature: 24 (24).

“We knew we had our work cut out for us,” Brown said. “We were able to get to fourth in the B Main to get the final transfer to the A Main. We started last and ended up getting together with Ian (Madsen) and got turned over. That was the end of the 360 Knoxville Nationals for us.”

Aug. 8 – Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa – Qualifying: 4; Heat race: 1 (3); Pole shuffle: 7; Feature: 6 (7).

“It was a huge car count and one of the toughest fields we’ll face all year long,” Brown said. “We qualified fourth. In the heat race it was the best I’ve felt in years and we were able to win from third. In the feature we missed it by just a tad bit. We were back as far as 10th. I got back to fifth, but on the last lap Sheldon (Haudenschild) got me.”

Aug. 9 – Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa, Iowa – Qualifying: 4; Heat race: 4 (5); King of the Hill: 1; Feature: 2 (1).

“We weren’t planning on going to Oskaloosa, but we needed another shot to try some things on our radar,” Brown said. “We were fourth quick and finished fourth in the heat. We were able to win the King of the Hill. Then in the feature we led the first 15 or so laps. I felt like I had a car capable of winning, but I didn’t do a good enough job in traffic. Toward the end we had a restart and we had a high-speed chess match for two laps with Kyle Larson. He pushed the issue and I wasn’t in a position to wreck my Knoxville Nationals car. I chose to lift and fight another day with this car.”

UP NEXT – Thursday through Saturday at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, for the NOS Energy Drink Knoxville Nationals presented by Casey’s General Stores

“I feel like we’re in a good spot with our team,” Brown said. “We need a tad bit of luck and I think we can be right in the hunt. Danny, Nate, Tye and my dad are a huge part and everybody is working so good together. I feel like we’re gaining momentum every single night and that’s what you want this time of the year.”
