Inside Line Promotions – COTTAGE GROVE, Ore. (Aug. 11, 2021) – Confidence is on Tyler Driever’s side following a strong performance at the Marvin Smith Memorial Grove Classic.
Driever charged from 16th to seventh during the opener last Friday before tying a career-best result of fourth place at Cottage Grove Speedway on Saturday.
The action began on Friday when Driever qualified fourth quickest. A fifth-place result in a heat race narrowly missed advancing into the feature. It forced Driever to run the B Main and a fourth-place outing earned a transfer into the back of the A Main.
“On Friday we were a little off,” he said. “We qualified good, but in the heat race I didn’t make passes. We needed to be in the top four to get locked in. Then in the B Main we didn’t get a good start and fell back. Going into the feature I gave it all I had. The car was set up really well and I could put it anywhere I needed. Everywhere I went was hooked up and fast.”
Driever ended the night on a high note by hustling from 16th to a seventh-place result, which was his eighth top 10 of the season.
He continued to move forward on Saturday during the event finale, setting quick time during qualifying before maneuvering from sixth to third place in a heat race. That earned Driever a spot into the dash, which he won to garner the pole position for the main event.
“I got fortunate with the pill I drew to start on the pole for the dash,” he said. “I took off and we ran pretty good. Going into the feature I was nervous because that’s the biggest race I’ve started on the pole in my career. On the first lap I was going into turns three and four and thought I was clear, but I clipped Garen Linder. I got down on myself, but luckily I didn’t take him out. He passed me in the next corner and I fell back to fifth within the first 10 laps or so. I ended up getting a spot back once I settled down. I was able to get into a rhythm.”
Driever’s fourth-place finish tied a career-best outing at the track and it was his fifth top five of the season.
Next up is an ASCS Frontier Region doubleheader this Friday and Saturday at Sweetwater Speedway in Rock Springs, Wyo. Driever enters the event leading the ASCS Frontier Region championship standings.
“I’m pretty confident about this weekend,” he said. “There will be some good competition there so I’m pretty excited.”

SPONSOR SPOTLIGHT – Larson-Miller Medical Waste Disposal Service
Larson-Miller Medical Waste Disposal Service was founded by Vern Larson and Mark Miller in 1985, making it the oldest family owned medical waste disposal service in the United States. Vern and Mark both started their careers in the medical industry as medical/surgical supply salesman. It was then that they realized a void in their community.
At that time, most major hospitals used an incinerator to dispose of their own waste. Smaller clinics, nursing homes, doctors, and dentists did not produce enough waste to justify owning and operating an incinerator or an alternate treatment system. Consequently, bio-hazard and infectious waste commonly ended up in the municipal waste stream. This was a major issue that affected the general population as well as the environment.
The goal at Larson-Miller Medical Waste Disposal Service is to protect healthcare workers, our communities and the environment by disposing of medical waste in the safest, most environmentally friendly way possible. To ensure this, we treat all bio-hazardous and infectious waste with an industrial autoclave here in the Northwest at our processing facility. We also properly sanitize our reusable medical waste containers after every use, making sure that we deliver the safest product to your business. “We’re grateful for the support of everyone at Larson Miller Medical Waste Disposal Service and we look forward to continued success together,” Driever said.
Driever would also like to thank Project Filter Idaho Fights Tobacco, Conrad & Bischoff, zMAX Race Products, Fokus Graphics & Design, Let’s Ride Powersports, King Racing Products, PitStopUSA, K1 RaceGear, Shark Racing Engines and HRP Racing for their continued partnership and offers support to the Rayce Rudeen Foundation.
