Belleville, IL. (8/8/2021) Taking the wings off for racing competition at I-76 Speedway, the Lucas Oil POWRi Rocky Mountain Lightning Sprints would tackle the speedy and smooth Fort Morgan, Colorado facility with precision and an elbows-up attitude. Racing wheel-to-wheel in the feature event would witness Josh Flood capture his third feature victory of the 2021 series season.
Early on-track action would find Josh Flood, Johnny Boos, and Joel Melon each earn heat racing victories with Frank Martinez grabbing a pole-position starting spot flanked by BJ Sauer on the front-row for the feature event.
Fast-paced non-wing lightning sprint racing would ensue on the drop of the green flag as Josh Flood and Johnny Boos would battle for the front. Flood would gain the racing advantage from his fourth starting position as Boos would race from sixth to battle up-front to no avail.
Holding off all other POWRi RMLS competitors Flood would grab the lead and never look back earning his third series feature win since 2019. Boos would be close nearly the entire feature finishing runner-up as Steve Becker earned the hard charger award by racing from starting eleventh to finish third. Pole-sitter Frank Martinez would also be among the front-runners all race to finish fourth as TJ Trengrove rounded out the top-five finishers at I-76 Speedway with the Lucas Oil POWRi Rocky Mountain Lightning Sprints.
