Belleville, IL. (8/1/2021) Competing in a trio of events over the weekend, the Lucas Oil POWRi Minn-Kota Lightning Sprints would tackle the tight racing quarters of River Cities Speedway, Greenbush Race Park, and wrapping up the weekend at Buffalo River Speedway with Dexter Dvergsten gaining victories in the first pair of feature events as Alan Truscinski would win in the final race of the northerly swing.
Witnessing outstanding nail-biting action all weekend, the POWRi MKLS would first fly around River Cities Speedway with Dexter Dvergsten and Kelsi Pederson earning heat racing victories. Starting outside row-one, Dvergsten would not be denied in his eleventh series feature win of the season as Alex Truscinski would race to finish runner-up and Alan Truscinski rounded out the podium finishers.
Keeping momentum rolling from the previous night’s win with the Lucas Oil POWRi Minn-Kota Lightning Sprints, Dexter Dvergsten would again start the event off strong by gaining a heat racing victory. Matching Dvergsten’s heat racing win would find Chris Crowder victim of the dice-redraw, having the battle from a sixth starting position in the feature event. Wing-to-wing at blazing speeds Dvergsten and Crowder would battle for the top spot as a late-race restart would witness Dvergsten hold off the high-side charge of Crowder to earn his twentieth feature win in only the previous two seasons, tying the POWRi record since 2016 with Johnny Boos from POWRi RMLS. Chris Crowder would finish in a close second as Alex Truscinski placed third.
Heading into the final night of POWRi MKLS weekend racing would once again see great racing throughout the evening as Alan Truscinski and Dexter Dvergsten would each earn heat race wins. Alan Truscinski would battle from a fourth starting position early to grab the lead and hold off the sixth starting Dvergsten in a thrilling feature event. Rounding out the podium finishers for the POWRi MKLS at Buffalo River Speedway would find Kelsi Pederson wheeling her way to a solid feature placing.
