The 8th annual running of the IMCA Iron Cup at Park Jefferson Speedway is coming on August 9-10. One of the crown jewels of racing in Siouxland, the pursuit for the coveted Iron Cups brings very fierce competition to Park Jefferson Speedway.
Monday, August 9 will feature the preliminary night of action as the track. The IMCA Modifieds run a format that mirrors the Marshalltown World Nationals. Drivers will compete in a pair of rounds of heat races to lock the top drivers in points into the A Feature. The J&J Fitting Stock Cars, Z98 Sport Modifieds Q&Feather Again Hobby Stocks and Fox 620 Sport Compacts will run a complete separate IMCA program featuring draw/redraw IMCA procedures.
Tuesday, August 10 will be championship night when the Iron Cups are awarded in all 5 classes. The Modifieds not locked into the feature will run twin heat races for the final spots in the A Main and then a last chance qualifier if necessary. The J&J Fitting Stock Cars, Z98 Sport Modifieds Q&Feather Again Hobby Stocks and Fox 620 Sport Compacts will again run a complete separate IMCA program featuring draw/redraw IMCA procedures.
IMCA state, regional and national points will be awarded along with track points.
Gates open both days at 5pm for competitors, spectators at 6pm. Hot laps will begin at 7pm with racing at 7:30.
Tickets for Monday are $15 adults, $13 Seniors and $3 children
Tickets for Tuesday are $17 adults, $15 Seniors and , $5 children
IMCA Modified drivers can register online and pay $150 up to August 7th. After that registration is $200.
IMCA Stock Cars, Sport Modified, Hobby Stock and Sport Compact drivers can register for free up to August 7th. Day of registration will be $20.
