Belleville, IL. (07/29/2021) Entering into the historic half-mile of the Missouri State Fairgrounds, the Lucas Oil POWRi Wingless Auto Racing Sprint League would amp up the open-wheel racing excitement for the first time in series competition since 2016. Running a mid-to-high line route to perfection, Mario Clouser would emerge victoriously and earn his fifth feature victory this season in POWRi WAR racing.
Early heat racing action would find Riley Kreisel earn the win from a fourth starting position to firmly grab the night’s high point award and pole starting position for the feature event. With Kreisel starting inside and Xavier Doney outside row one, the green flags would wave for feature action.
Kreisel would appear to be the driver to beat by taking the early advantage with Doney, Mario Clouser, and Wesley Smith in hot pursuit. Running third a speedy Smith would be sidelined with an unfortunate flat tire as Clouser moved in for a battle up-front.
Staying green flag racing Mario would use a turn four run to grab the lead and never let up, winning his fifth season feature while extending his point’s advantage ever-so-slightly. Late-race tire problems would plague Kreisel in the final corner as Xavier Doney finished runner up and Dakota Earls rounded out the podium finishers at the Missouri State Fair Speedway for the POWRi WAR Sprint League.
