by John Rittenoure - TULSA, Okla. (July 23, 2021) - Shores, Fogle, Nunn, Hickman visited the winners circle Friday at Tulsa Speedway.
Shores battled past early leader Danny Smith to win his first champ sprint main event. Smith led early on but Shores, who started inside third row, worked his way toward the front and took the lead away from Smith late in the 20-lap race. Smith held on to second ahead of Rees Moran in third.
Fogle and John Potter put on a torrid battle in the USRA B-Mod feature. Fogle led from the start but Potter constantly challenged Fogle pulling alongside first on the inside then on the outside. At times Potter briefly pulled in front only to see Fogle regain the lead. Despite his strong challenge Potter ended up with second. Colby Artherton was a close third.
Dalton Garrison was trying to win a fourth straight factory stock main event. However, Chris Nunn came away with the victory in a feature shortened by a time limit. Every time Garrison tried to challenge the yellow flag waved. After 20 minutes of yellow flag delays the race was checkered with only five laps in with Nunn winning over Garrison.
Adrien Hickman raced to his second straight mini stock feature win. Lane Traster was second.
Friday, July 30, the ASCS National sprinters stop at Tulsa Speedway as part of their SpeedWeek Tour.
