Dvergsten Gains Feature Win in Intense POWRi MKLS Instant Classic

Belleville, IL. (07/19/2021) Hitting the halfway point to the 2021 season for the Lucas Oil POWRi Minn-Kota Lightning Sprints at Devils Lake Speedway, would be the setting for an outstanding feature event witnessing multiple lead changes with wing-to-wing racing. When the finals checkers were waved, series front-runner Dexter Dvergsten would notch his eighth feature win of the season.

Early on-track racing action would witness Weston Olson, Jason Berg, and Alan Truscinski all claim heat racing victories with Truscinski and Berg earning the front-row starting spots for the feature event.

Going green flag feature racing at Devils Lake Speedway would find a gaggle of drivers all vying for the front position with the three heat race winners all trying to lead the pack of hungry lightning sprint drivers. Caution flags would fly late in the event to set up a three-lap shootout to determine the winner.

After slipping back the eighth in the feature, fifth starting driver Dexter Dvergsten would benefit the most on the late-race restart. Setting up his car for the latter stages, Dvergsten was able to mount a charge and take over the lead on the white-flag lap, holding on until the checkers were shown. Alex Truscinski would be in the mix for the feature win all-event, settling for a close runner-up finish.

Driving from a sixth starting spot, Kelsi Pedersen would fly to the front and finish in a heated battle for third with Alan Truscinski to place third, with Alan finishing fourth. Travis Surerus continues to improve every time his sprinter touches the racing surface, notching a solid top-five with the Lucas Oil POWRi Minn-Kota Lightning Sprints at Devils Lake Speedway.
