Inside Line Promotions – ROSSBURG, Ohio (July 19, 2021) – Brian Brown is firing on all eight cylinders following a successful week in Ohio, where the veteran racer scored his second-best result during the Kings Royal and his top outing at the crown jewel event since 2016.

Brown also posted a pair of season-best runner-up results during World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series races that sandwiched the Kings Royal.

July 14 – Eldora Speedway near Rossburg, Ohio – Qualifying: 4; Heat race: 1 (2); Dash: 1 (4); Feature: 2 (1).

“We’ve been good at times in the past, but not consistently good at Eldora,” Brown said. “We really knocked it out of the park the first night. We qualified well and won the heat. We started fourth in the dash and won it. We started on the front row of the feature and ran second to Carson (Macedo). We had a really good car all night. It was a really solid night. Also, it was the first night Danny (Lasoski) was with us full time. It was an awesome job by Nate, Tye and my dad. Those guys worked really hard at the shop to make sure we were prepared.

“We parted ways with Chad (Morgan) and brought Danny on board. I have nothing but the utmost respect for Chad. He gave me 13 years of his life and was 100 percent dedicated to BBR. He wasn’t just an employee; he is a close friend to everyone here.”

July 17 – Eldora Speedway near Rossburg, Ohio – Qualifying: 1; Heat race: 3 (4); Feature: 10 (13).

“Our Garrett engine ran well all week,” Brown said. “We were able to set quick time, which is awesome in a 60-car field. In the heat race (on Thursday) they were trying to push through with weather. I don’t feel like the track conditions were ideal, but it was the same for everybody. We were able to go fourth to third to lock into the Kings Royal. To finish up on Saturday we didn’t have a lot of track time. We got to hot lap before the heats and then for the feature we didn’t make the right adjustments overall. I think we were okay, but not good. We cut a right rear tire and came back to get 10th.”

July 17 – Eldora Speedway near Rossburg, Ohio – Qualifying: 9; Heat race: 5 (3); B Main: 5 (7).

“We qualified ninth, but we were the worst we were all weekend on Saturday in the heat and we had a really tough heat,” Brown said. “We just missed it. We really went to work to come up with a good package in the B Main. I was able to go seventh to third, but the driver made some bad laps and we missed it by one. That was a little disappointing. What made me happy was we got done at the car wash at 3:30 in the morning and everybody was up at 7:30 ready to rip for Sunday’s program.”

July 18 – Eldora Speedway near Rossburg, Ohio – Qualifying: 2; Heat race: 1 (1); Dash: 1 (1); Feature: 2 (1).

“We qualified well and won a heat and the dash,” Brown said. “We raced with Carson for the lead in the A Main. It was two totally different track conditions Wednesday versus Sunday and I feel we had a car capable of winning both nights. I’m very excited because on Sunday it was conditions we normally would really struggle with.

“Hats off to the fans for sticking around on Sunday. Also, if this is any indication of what the Knoxville Nationals will be, what a crowd we had on Saturday. And seeing the Pennzoil No. 22 win a heat race at the Kings Royal was awesome. What he’s meant to the sport, to have that happen was great. For me growing up a Jac Haudenschild Pennzoil fan it doesn’t get any cooler in my eyes.

“Overall, me and Danny gelled really well all week. The guys worked really hard. I’m very, very excited for the next month.”

UP NEXT – Saturday at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa

“My confidence is where it needs to be,” Brown said. “I feel like I can drive these race cars if my car is good and we had a good car all week long. Our communication as a team was great. We learned things that will carry over and a good attitude will go a long way.”
