by John Rittenoure - OKTAHA, Okla. (July 9, 2021) - Danny Wood raced from third to first with two laps remaining to win his second consecutive AmeriFlex / OCRS IMCA Sprint Car feature Friday at Outlaw Motor Speedway.
Wood, who won June 26 at Southern Oklahoma Speedway, started third row outside then slowly worked his way toward the front taking the lead on lap 24 of the 25-lap feature.
Kyle Clark moved into the early lead at the drop of the green followed by Steven Shebester, Alex Sewell and Wood, who had climbed to fourth on lap 1. Clark and Shebester ran 1-2 until lap 21 when Shebester powered by to take the lead. Wood, who was running fourth, passed Sewell for third on lap 18 then moved to second briefly on lap 21 before falling back to third on lap 22. Two laps later Wood made his move to first dropping Shebester to second where he finished. Whit Gastineau battled his way from 7th to third on lap 24, Clark fell to fourth. Sewell finished fifth.
The AmeriFlex / OCRS IMCA Sprint Cars travel to Lawton Speedway on Saturday. Shebester won there earlier this season.
