Belleville, IL. (07/04/2021) Hitting the smooth racing surfaces of Lake Ozark Speedway for the Lucas Oil POWRi RaceSaver Super Sprint Independence Nationals, the POWRi RaceSaver Super Sprints would put on a display of on-track action unrivaled with side-by-side battles for the lead. With clean and near-perfect driving, Randy Martin would extend his winning streak and claim the Nationals feature victory.
Early battles would witness Randy Martin and Mike Trent each claim heat racing victories as Trent would earn the night’s high-point award notching a pole-starting position for the thirty-lap main event.
With Mike Trent and Nick Rasa leading the field of hungry POWRi Super Sprints ready to take flight on the initial green-flag start, Trent would launch to the early lead holding off the high-side hustle of Rasa. As Trent tried to separate from the field, third-starting Randy Martin would move into striking positioning.
Phenomenal wing-to-wing racing between two established talents for the top spot with the backdrop of fireworks in the distance would set the tone for the duration of the feature as Trent and Martin each vied for the lead. Ultimately, Martin was able to use low-line momentum to carry himself to the front of the field with Trent keeping pace in the runner-up position.
Amazing on-track racing behind the leading pair would find Nick Rasa rally late to finish third after slipping outside the front-five as Kenny Potter would battle from an eight-place starting spot to cross the finish in fourth.
Starting at the tail of the feature-field after mechanical issues during engine warm-ups would find Greenwood Indiana’s Bradley Galedrige hard-charge his way through the field past thirteen other competitors to round out the top-five for the Lucas Oil POWRi RaceSaver Super Sprint Nationals.
