The old year ticked away into past tense and the New Year was ushered in with the running of the 26th Annual Tulsa Shootout that culminated on Saturday night at the QuikTrip Center’s Tulsa Expo Raceway.
As a world record total of 715 entries in the Micro ranks at the first all open-wheel edition of the storied Tulsa Shootout battled it out, seven drivers rose to the top of the heap by claiming coveted Golden Driller trophies in Saturday night’s championship feature events.
Sapulpa, OK, teen Blake Hahn was the only one able to bag two Golden Drillers with a sweep of both the Outlaw and Non-Wing Outlaw ranks. Hahn was one of three Sooner State shoes to reach victory lane with another pair of winners from California and single winners from Washington and Kansas.
