Belleville, IL. (06/21/2021) Resuming the multi-event weekend of racing action for the Lucas Oil POWRi Minn-Kota Lightning Sprints, a rare Thursday race at Norman County Raceway would add to the excitement of the schedule with Saturday racing returning to the familiar banks of Devils Lake Speedway. With outstanding racing both nights, Bryce Haugeberg would earn his second career POWRi MKLS feature win as Dexter Dvergsten continues to add to his overall win count.
Norman County Raceway would witness Bryce Haugeberg and Jason Berg both earn heat racing victories as Mark Williams would grab the feature events pole starting position. Going green would find third starting Haugeberg stick to an inside line carrying momentum to the front of the pack.
Haugeberg would hold on for the duration of the race, keeping the hard-charging efforts of Dexter Dvergsten at bay and grab his first feature win of the 2021 racing season. Dvergsten would drive from seventh to finish in a close runner-up positioning as Weston Olson rounded out the podium finishers at Norman County Raceway with the POWRi MKLS.
Back in fine form at Devils Lake Speedway on Saturday, the Lucas Oil POWRi Minn-Kota Lightning Sprints would see great side-by-side racing as Jason Berg would earn the early heat racing advantage and pole starting spot for the feature event.
Launching into green flag racing in the feature race would display the closeness of competitors among the POWRi MKLS with Berg, Haugeberg, Dvergsten, Travis Surerus, and Kate Taves all within proximity of the pacesetter. Shuffling through the field, Dexter Dvergsten would gain his second straight hard-charger award by racing from starting sixth to grabbing the lead by the mid-point.
Carrying the top-spot to the checkered flag, Dexter Dvergsten would earn his fifth win of the 2021 racing season and series leading thirteenth feature win in the past two seasons. Keeping pace to the front would see Travis Surerus drive from fifth to finish runner-up with Bryce Haugeberg rounding out the podium finishers at Devils Lake Speedway with the POWRi MKLS.
