Inside Line Promotions – KNOXVILLE, Iowa (June 21, 2021) – Garet Williamson soaked up every aspect of his first time tackling the Cometic Gasket Ohio Sprint Speedweek presented by Hercules Tires.
The Bryant Paver Motorsports driver competed in the first six nights of the 39th annual FloRacing All Star Circuit of Champions spectacle last week. It marked Williamson’s first time at each track and his All Star debut.
“It was a huge learning curve,” he said. “At the end of the day we learned a ton going to new tracks and getting our heads kicked in for a week straight. The results don’t look good, but going to that many new tracks and racing on that many surfaces will help us. Ohio is a whole new game out there. There are some really fast drivers.”
Williamson said the team is aiming to travel to Ohio to compete more often next year.
“We’ve already talked about wanting to get out there with the 410 more often,” he said. “The racing last week will help us in the 410s and 360s. I think everything will slow down a lot more to us when we race 360s, too. Racing in tough events like that can only make us better.”
The team invaded Knoxville Raceway on Saturday and intended to run more Midwest 410 events this week, but a mechanical problem during the heat race parked the team for the remainder of the night.
Williamson plans on racing local 360 shows this Saturday at Lake Ozark Speedway in Eldon, Mo., and Sunday at Double X Speedway in California, Mo.
“I think there’s no reason we shouldn’t be on the podium both nights,” he said. “We’ve ran well at Lake Ozark and we ran third at Double X earlier this year. It’d be nice to pick up a win or two this weekend.”
