Every driver to go to victory lane Saturday night at I-90 Speedway celebrated his first win of the year. John Lambertz claimed the top spot in the Spielman Excavating IMCA Sprint Cars, Tim Dann took the win in the T&R Contracting Late Model Street Stocks, the Great Western Bank B-Modified win went to Dave Kennedy and James Adams took the trophy in the LawnSnow.com Hobby Stocks.
Eli Hargreaves paced the field for the opening 10 laps of the main event in the Spielman Excavating IMCA Sprints. The young runner would show the way until he slipped high in turn two allowing Lambertz to make the move and go on for the win. Lambertz started eleventh on the field. Lee Goos Jr was second ahead of Dusty Ballenger who gained 12 spots to take the Precision Drywall hard charger honors.
The race was red flagged on lap five when Dillon Bickett and Chris Schoenrock tangled in turn four. The incident sent Bickett and his 17B flipping wildly. Both drivers were unharmed.
Brian Hoing commanded the field in the T&R Contracting Late Model Street Stock feature. That was until the white flag when Tim Dann ducked to the inside and would make the move to steal the win. For Dann, it was career win 26 at I-90 Speedway. Hoing was second ahead of Colby Klaassen.
For Dave Kennedy, career win 19 came after taking the lead of the feature on lap eight. He’d have to hold off Tyler Myers to get the win. Ray Feltman was third.
James Adams didn’t just celebrate his first win of the year, it was the first of his career at I-90 Speedway. The finish was close as Levi VanderWeide challenged for the win in the final corners. Tyler Schlumbohm charged from deep in the field to take third.
I-90 Speedway is back in action on Saturday with the event headlined by the RepairableVehicles.com Tri-State Late Model Series.
