Burke's Do It Best Home Centers and Compass Credit Union Present Novelis Supermodified Twin 35's, Return of Pathfinder Bank SBS and J&S Paving 350 Sup

OSWEGO, NY (June 16, 2021) - Oswego Speedway will roar back to life this Saturday, June 19 with Twin feature night for the Novelis Supermodifieds plus the return of points racing action for the Pathfinder Bank SBS and J&S Paving 350 Supers presented by Burke’s Do It Best Home Centers and Compass Credit Union.

Supermodified competitors will engage in a pair of action-packed Twin 35-lap feature events, a semi-regular Speedway tradition dating back to 1976.

Following their revival in 2014 after a long hiatus, the fan-favorite Twins have been included on the schedule in the month of June for each of the last seven straight seasons.

Of the drivers expected this weekend, seven of them have been victorious in previous Twin 35 mains including Joe Gosek, Michael Barnes, Otto Sitterly, Michael Muldoon, Dave Danzer, Jeff Abold, and Dave Shullick Jr.

Among the previous winners, Barnes won the second Twin in 2014, and swept both features in 2018, which is the only time a driver has done this since the Twins returned.

Sitterly won the first Twin in June of 2015, and while Michael Muldoon had other plans in mind, Otto made a last-lap effort to pull even with the No. 15 at the line, resulting in a dead heat finish between the two drivers.

The other pair to repeat as winners in the new Twin 35 format are Danzer and Abold, who won the 2016 edition of the Twin 35’s and did the very same in 2019, only in reverse order.

Leading the field into double features in terms of points this weekend is Shullick, who sits atop the point standings with 299 total points for an eighteen-point lead over the defending champ Otto Sitterly who has 281 points.

Behind the top two, it is a close race in the top five with Jeff Abold, Dave Danzer, and Brandon Bellinger sitting at 275, 274, and 270 points, respectively.

May 15 feature winner Max McLaughlin, Michael Barnes, Alison Sload, Dan Connors Jr, and the most recent Supermodified feature winner; rookie Mike Bruce, complete the top ten rundown in the standings.

In the Pathfinder Bank Small Block Super division, former Classic champion Bryan Haynes has two top five finishes this season and leads Opening Night winner Dan Kapuscinski by a slim margin of six points with the pair at 205 and 199 points, respectively.

Cameron Rowe, May 15 winner Brad Haynes, and current Rookie of the Year leader Noah Ratcliff trail in the top five at 194, 185, and 181 points.

Joshua Sokolic; still on a tear for his first-ever feature win, rookie Griffin Miller, Tony Pisa, rookie Joey DeStevens, and Dennis Rupert make up the remainder of the top ten.

Battling for the coveted Rookie of the Year Award are Ratcliff, Miller, DeStevens, Mark Denny Jr, Darrick Hilton, Robbie Bruce, Josh Wallace, and AJ Larkin, and for now its fifth-place Ratcliff on top by just nine points over seventh-place Miller who has 172 points.

Meanwhile, DeStevens, Denny, Hilton, Bruce, Wallace, and Larkin are ninth, eleventh, twelfth, thirteenth, fourteenth, and twentieth in points, with DeStevens being the next closest driver to Ratcliff with a manageable 25 points behind at 156 in total.

Former Pathfinder Bank SBS track champion Kreig Heroth leads the way atop the J&S Paving 350 Super point standings piloting the Top Quality Constriction No. 45.

Trailing Heroth is another former SBS feature winner, Jon Tesoriero, by a small gap of just nine points, while rookie May 15 winner Nick Kinney, two-time 350 Super winner Dalton Doyle, and rookie Kyle Perry; the only driver to finish top five in both events this season, is currently fifth.

Barry Kingsley, Mike Bruce, Dave Cliff, rookie Kali Spaulding, and Vern LaFave round out the top ten.
