Dexter Dvergsten and Alan Truscinski Win in POWRi MKLS Battles

Belleville, IL. (06/07/2021) Setting the stage for three nights of North Dakota and Minnesota of racing over the weekend, the Lucas Oil POWRi Minn-Kota Lightning Sprints would travel from Red River Valley Speedway on Friday, then onto Greenbush Speedway on Saturday, and wrapping up the weekend of speed at Buffalo River Speedway on Sunday. With rainfall spoiling the fun Friday, Dexter Dvergsten would continue his winning streak by claiming the next two feature victories.

Red River Valley Speedway, in West Fargo North Dakota, would see Alex Truscinski and Bryce Haugeberg both claim heat race victories before an unexpected rain shower would dampen the racing excitement, striking the feature event from completion.

As the poor weather conditions cleared for Saturday’s event at Minnesota’s Greenbush Race Park, Dexter Dvergsten would celebrate his birthday in style by not only claiming a heat race victory but notching his fourth feature win of the young season. Alex Truscinski would hold off the hard-charging Alan Truscinski to finish second with Alan placing third from starting eleventh. Cody Swenson and heat race winner Kelsi Pederson would battle side-by-side for fourth, with Swenson grabbing the position leaving Pederson to round out the Greenbush Race Park top-five finishers for the POWRi MKLS.

With Dexter Dvergsten topping the field in all the POWRi MKLS season’s previous feature events, a bounty to any driver that could cleanly beat a finishing Dvergsten would be offered to wrap up the weekend of racing at Buffalo River Speedway in Glyndon Minnesota. Seeming to be up to the challenge as early on-track excitement would find Dvergsten and Kelsi Pederson both claim heat racing victories.

Leading the pack of hungry POWRi Minn-Kota Lightning Sprints to the initial green-flag start would find Alan Truscinski and Travis Surerus battling for the early lead. Truscinski would grab the racing advantage and hold the top spot for the duration of the event. Grabbing the bounty, Truscinski would not be without pressure with a hard-charging Bryce Haugeberg hot on his heels finishing runner-up with Pederson picking up the final podium placement. Dvergsten would valiantly race from starting sixth to finish fourth on the technical track with Surerus rounding out the top-five at Buffalo River Speedway with the POWRi MKLS.
