Hartland, Wisconsin (May 19th, 2021) – Bill Balog and B Squared Motorsports have hit their stride with the 2021 FloRacing All Star Circuit of Champions presented by Mobil 1 race series. Coming off a pair of top five finishes with the series at Sharon Speedway and Tri-City Raceway Park May 1st and 2nd, the team returned with back to back visits to I-96 Speedway in Lake Odessa, MI for the $8,500 to win Mace Thomas Classic and the $8,000 to win event at the Dirt Oval at Route 66 in Joliet, IL on May 14th and 15th.
The Anderson’s Maple Syrup #17B kicked off the weekend by recording a qualifying lap of 13.244 seconds, good enough for third quickest on the evening at I-96 Speedway. Bill and the team placed third in their heat race, qualifying them for the Dash Redraw where he finished second and qualified him for the fourth starting position in the A-Main event. After four circuits on the very racey and fast feature surface, Bill was exchanging slide jobs with Corey Elliason for the second position when there was contact between the #5 car of Paul McMahon and the #17B. Unfortunately, the incident resulted in a flat left front tire, which the team replaced and Bill returned to the tail of the field, but further front-end damage would later force Bill to retire from the 30-lap main event.
“Not being able to battle up front for the results we want is frustrating. The crew did a great job on the car, it was stuck to the ground. I was able to drive deep into the corner on entry and keep the right rear digging for exit speed. It was as good as we’ve been,” said a disappointed Balog, driver of the CK Contractors LLC, Buesser Concrete, Wisecup Siding, Howard Law, Wayne Corini, CPA number 17B.
On the second night of the double header weekend, The North Pole Nightmare collected his first career All Star Circuit of Champions Fast Qualifier award at Route 66, the track where he recorded his 100th Bumper to Bumper IRA Sprint Car Series feature win in 2015. Rain showers throughout much of the day created an evening of fast and wide-open racing, delivering Bill a fourth-place finish in his heat race and qualifying him for the Dash Redraw. The eighth starting position in the 25-lap feature event provided another proving ground for the B Squared Motorsports team, where they advanced three positions earning another top 5 finish with the series.
“Tonight was high speed and a battle to run hard and finish where we did. The team has really gelled and we’re gaining confidence as the season progresses. The car is good, we have good speed and we’re hitting our stride with the All-Star Circuit of Champions format, we’re looking forward to the rest of the season.” said Balog, who is chasing the All-Star Rookie of the Year bragging rights to add to his ten IRA Series championships.

Upcoming Racing Schedule
Bill Balog and B Squared Motorsports continue their season as the FloRacing All Star Circuit of Champions presented by Mobil 1 takes center stage in the Hoosier State, set to battle for four straight nights at three Indiana bullrings, all of which kicking-off on Thursday and Friday, May 20-21, with a two-night stay at the all-new Circle City Raceway in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Dubbed the All-Stars Indiana Invasion presented by Rayce Rudeen Foundation, competitors will not only duel for a total winner’s share equaling $48,000 over the four-day extended weekend, but a points fund equaling $26,000 will also be distributed among the top-five in the final weekend standings. The All Stars Indiana Invasion presented by Rayce Rudeen Foundation champion will be awarded a $10,000 top prize, with second through fifth awarded $7,000, $4,000, $3,000, and $2,000, respectively.
The four-night Indiana takeover will continue Saturday, May 22, with a visit to Gas City I-69 Speedway. Only the second All Star appearance in Series history, the Saturday night showstopper will award a $6,000 payday. Growing into one of the most sought after prizes on the All Star campaign trail, the All Stars Indiana Invasion presented by Rayce Rudeen Foundation will conclude on Sunday, May 23, with the third running of the annual Rayce Rudeen Foundation Race at Kokomo Speedway. Like years prior, a $26,000 payday will be awarded to the main event winner.
