Saturday night of Memorial Day Weekend, Park Jefferson presents the 7th annual Memorial Duels for sprint cars and IMCA Modifieds presented by Pepsi. The 410 outlaw sprint cars invade as the Buffalo Wild Wing Northern Outlaw Sprint Association comes to Park Jefferson for the first night of a 3 night South Dakota swing, before moving on to Husets Speedway on Sunday and Monday. Joining them will be the IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Stock Cars and IMCA Sport Modifieds
.
The 800 horsepower sprint cars will see a number of drivers from across the Dakotas invade Park Jefferson Speedway. Austin Pierce of Grand Forks, North Dakota leads the points over veteran Wade Nygaard. Nygaard, who has competed in a 360 sprint car for a number of years at Park Jeff, will look to use his advantage in local knowledge take on the field. Drivers will be gunning for a top prize of $3,000 thanks to sponsorship from Pepsi.
IMCA track, state, regional and national points will be on the line in the 3 IMCA divisions. The IMCA Modifieds will be the headline of the night as teams in action will be part of the Pepsi Pick 5 contest. Fans can enter to win the Pepsi Pick 5 IMCA Modified contest hosted at Park Jefferson Speedway. Any fan correctly picking the top 5 finishers in order on their ballot will win 4 free clubhouse passes to Park Jefferson for the Memorial Monday Modified blowout. Ballots can be picked up at the ticket window and turned into the ticket window prior to the first A Main event of the night.
The J&J Fitting IMCA Stock Cars return to see if anyone can unseat local stalwart Travis Barker who has been nearly unstoppable at Siouxland tracks. The Z98 IMCA Sport Modifieds will also kick off their 2021 racing season at Park Jefferson where Rusty Montagne is one of the men to beat.
As a special bonus, owner Adam Adamson is putting up an additional $100 bonus to any driver who sweeps Saturday and Monday nights. In addition, if any driver can sweep Saturday at Park Jefferson, Sunday at Raceway Park and Monday back at Park Jefferson in the IMCA classes they will earn a $500 bonus.
Tickets for the Memorial Duels will be $18 for adults, $16 for seniors 65+, $5 for children 6-16 and under 6 are free. Gates will open at 5pm with hot laps slated for 6:30 and racing at 7:00.
