POWRi RMLS Soaked at El Paso County Raceway with Phillips County Looming

POWRi RMLS Soaked at El Paso County Raceway with Phillips County Looming

Belleville, IL. (05/16/2021) Anxiously awaiting their chance to test their talents on the fast-racing surfaces of Honor Speedway for the first time this season, the Lucas Oil POWRi Rocky Mountain Lightning Sprints would find an uncooperative Mother Nature thwarting any chances of racing entertainment.

Trying everything possible to get the event underway, many POWRi RMLS drivers would help in packing the track and pits to ensure a quality track, only to have a pop-up seasonal rain shower ruin any improvements made. After many attempts to salvage the night, Honor Speedway would be forced to cancel the event after hot laps.

So far in 2021 within the POWRi Rocky Mountain Lightning Sprints, Johnny Boos has been the dominant driver by claiming both feature victories on the young season. Over the past two seasons, Boos has continually racked up wins totaling sixteen POWRi RMLS feature victories.

With only a couple of weeks remaining until the Midwest Lightning Sprints serve as the hosting series for the Third Annual POWRi Lightning Sprint Nationals, many area competitors have been busy finalizing and finely tuning their hotrods for the rapidly approaching two-day racing weekend at Central Missouri Speedway in Warrensburg, Missouri on May 29-30.

After the POWRi Lightning Sprint Nationals, the Lucas Oil POWRi Rocky Mountain Lightning Sprints will next be in action at the first series trip of the year to Phillips County Raceway in Holyoke, Colorado on Friday, June 4th. Classes scheduled to compete include the POWRi RMLSA, Modifieds, Sport-Mods, Stock Cars, Hobby Stocks, Compacts, Dwarfs, Mini-Mods, and UTVs. Pit Gates open at 3 PM with general admission available at 5 PM. Hot Laps are scheduled at 6:30 PM with racing action to follow.
