Inside Line Promotions – ROSSBURG, Ohio (May 10, 2021) – Brian Brown garnered a pair of top-10 finishes last weekend at Eldora Speedway, which hosted the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series during the #LetsRaceTwo doubleheader.

May 7 – Eldora Speedway near Rossburg, Ohio – Qualifying: 2; Heat race: 1 (1); Dash: 5 (2); Feature: 10 (5).

“Every time we hit the track we were close to the top of the board,” Brown said. “Chad has worked really hard on my car trying to get me comfortable. He’s done a great job of getting us back where we need to be. We went out on Friday night and put down a good lap in qualifying. Eldora takes a lot of engine and our Garrett Engines are always really good. We got delayed there for the rest of the program, which was the right call. The track wouldn’t be wide enough with the bottom being so sloppy.

“We won our heat race on Saturday during the day. Then I drew a good dash number. I got into a slide fest with Sunshine (Tyler Courtney) and lost rhythm and ended up fifth. In the feature we were in the fifth or sixth spot and got together with Brock (Zearfoss). It was just a racing deal. My right front hit his left rear and I got spun out. I had to go to the back and charged back to get into the top 10. From where we started a top 10 wasn’t the goal, but after going to the back it was good to pass some cars and get back into the top 10.”

May 8 – Eldora Speedway near Rossburg, Ohio – Qualifying: 5; Heat race: 3 (2); Feature: 6 (9).

“We were fifth quick and started on the outside of the front row in the heat,” Brown said. “We had a real good race with Brad (Sweet) for the dash spot and he snuck by us. We started ninth in the feature and I was able to run sixth. I felt like we were real close to where we need to be. We’re knocking on the door of consistent top fives with these guys. That’s four straight top 10s with the Outlaws. (Donny) Schatz says it all the time, you have to crawl before you can walk. You’re not going to go from running 14th to competing for wins right away. I feel we’re gaining on it.

“Chad, Nate and my dad have done a great job. That was a grueling 48 hours and they marched on like champions. We’ve got a great team.”

UP NEXT – Friday at Jackson Motorplex in Jackson, Minn., for the Bull Haulers Brawl presented by Folkens Brothers Trucking with the Northern Outlaw Sprint Association and Saturday at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa

“We’re excited to get to Jackson,” Brown said. “There’s a lot of money on the line there this year. It’s important to get a good baseline package where you can compete when the Outlaws come to town. Hopefully we can unload a fast Casey’s FVP No. 21.

“We’ve always been pretty decent at Knoxville. Some things we’ve learned the last month we want to try as the night goes on. We’re racing, but we’re also testing and tuning within the race.”
