ASCS Southwest Region Back At Cocopah Speedway This Saturday

Bryan Hulbert – SOMERTON, Ariz. (May 3, 2021) Heading back to Cocopah Speedway, the ASCS Southwest Region will take on the three-eighths-mile oval for the second time this season on Saturday, May 8.

Going to Seth Bergman in the tour’s first race of the season at Cocopah, the Washington shoe will be in Michigan this weekend. Looking through the current points for the ASCS Southwest Region, Lorne Wofford leads the way by 5 points over J.T. Imperial, with Wes Wofford only trailing by nine. Nick Parker and Eric Wilkins complete the top five in tour standings.

Saturday, May 8, opens at 5:00 P.M. with racing at 7:00 P.M. (MT). Admission is $20, with Seniors and Military, admitted for $15. Kids 11 and under are free into the Grandstands. Pit Passes are $35. The night’s card includes IMCA Modifieds, Sport Mods, Hobby Stocks, Sport Compacts, and Mini Dwarfs. Cocopah Speedway is located between Yuma and Somerton, Ariz., on the Cocopah Indian Reservation. The track sits across the street from the Cocopah Casino at County 15th & US 95.

The 2021 season is the 30th year of competition for the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by the MAVTV Motorsports Network.
